Board Member
James Thach is a veteran of the Coast Guard Reserve retiring after 27 years of dedicated service. Pioneering numerous new missions and units within the Coast Guard, his leadership has lived on across many of the Coast Guard’s missions. While not overseas or on orders, James spent years working within environmental consulting across the country. Leveraging his degrees in geology and geophysics, he was able to work on projects from simple gas station leaks to Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, one of the world’s largest man-made disasters. James’ vast experience has ranged from local municipalities, state, federal, and private industries and has given him a different perspective on how veterans and first responders are supported. Taking these experiences, James was elected as a trustee of the Taft Public Library in Mendon, MA and has joined numerous working groups with the town of Mendon. Additionally, he is using his emergency management experience by supporting the Mendon Police Department in developing tactics and plans to help the community in times of need. A true advocate for veterans and first responders, James has continued his mission of “taking care of the team” by volunteering with numerous organizations and non-profits and advocating for the team at their agencies.
